Maker of Brawny Towels Again Featuring Strong Women on Its Packaging

Strength Has No Gender, says the make of Brawny towels. In celebration of Women's History Month, Georgia-Pacific’s Brawny paper towels will once again feature four strong women who have inspired others with their accomplishments in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

For the second consecutive year, Georgia-Pacific will recognize women who prove that StrengthHasNoGender, their initiative to showcase the accomplishments of exceptional women. Four women will be featured on limited edition packaging. In addition, the company will release a series of short films at Brawny.com where each of the four women talk about their personal and professional challenges in the pursuit of their dreams.

The four women include:

  • Vernice Armour – first African-American female combat pilot in the U.S. and first African-American female pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps
  • Dr. Anna Kornbrot – oral surgeon who was the first woman to graduate from Columbia College
  • Patty Lopez, Ph.D. – engineer at Intel who has released more than 50 products in her career and holds seven imaging patents
  • Brittany Wenger – first place winner in the 2012 Google Science Fair who developed an app for breast cancer diagnosis testing

Donating $75K for STEM education

Georgia-Pacific is also donating $75K for STEM education. The money will be used to support participants in women’s empowerment organization Girls Inc., a non-profit organization based in New York that focuses on "inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold."
