7-Eleven Launches Women's Franchise Initiative Competition
7-Eleven, Inc. is having a give-away contest exclusively for women entrepreneurs. One deserving woman will be awarded a 7-Eleven fee-free franchise, a value of up to $190,000.
With more than 56,000 locations around the world, 7-Eleven is the world's largest convenience retailer. The company has been franchising for more than 50 years, and is sponsoring this contest to encourage more women entrepreneur to consider careers as franchise owners.
Currently, less than one-third of franchised businesses in the U.S. are owned by women. The winner of the contest can choose any of the company's 7-Eleven convenience stores available in the continental U.S.
How to apply
Applicants must be age 21 or older, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, have excellent credit and at least three years of leadership, retail or restaurant experience. To enter, applicants must submit an essay by April 7, 2017. The winner will be announced in July 2017.
Essays will be judged according to how well it addresses the essay question, "Tell us why you'd make a great 7‑Eleven owner and how you envision helping your community." Candidates must be determined woman with a desire to be a business owner.
