Well, the year is over, and it's time to start out the new year with new ideas that will help women become successful business owners. An American Express OPEN-commissioned report revealed that more than 9.4 million women-owned businesses currently operate in the U.S. They represent nearly a third of all privately held companies in the nation. Location is everything. Where are the best cities to start a business?

The best and the worst cities in 2016

According to a survey by WalletHub, a personal finance website that launched in 2013, some cities were good to women entrepreneurs, and others were not. WalletHub recently published their list of the 100 largest metropolitan cities in America, rating them from best to worst, based on Overall New Business Friendliness, Female Entrepreneurship, and Business Climate For Woman.
