Grant Helps Create New Program To Support Women Owned Businesses
Services that support women in business
Whether women-owned businesses are in the start-up phase or looking to expand, the WBA provides strategic support and resources for women regardless of what stage their business is in. Some of those support services include teaching them activities that focus on creating jobs and increasing revenue, and accessing needed capital for expansion and growth of women-owned companies within specific regional NAICS business codes.
As Meg Thoreson, Women’s Business Alliance Director, explained it, "The tools available through Ignite can help participating businesses grow stronger faster and lessen the risk associated with expansion.”
The Women’s Business Alliance (WBA), is a network of women business owners who network with other small business owners and provide assistance and training in business planning and development to help businesses grow. They are located across the country. The Entrepreneur Fund provides entrepreneur development services and financing to emerging and small businesses in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
