Every year, American Express Open publishes a report called the State of Women-Owned Businesses. In 2014, that report showed there are 9 million businesses in the U.S. now owned by women, and their total annual revenues are topping $1.5 trillion each year.

So, where are the best cities for women-owned businesses?

According to NerdWallet.com, an online personal finance provider for people looking for information about education, finance, health, investing, and shopping, who recently evaluated 289 metro areas with at least 10,000 businesses, the top 25 cities for women-owned businesses are:
