Google is offering five grants to women specifically in the field of security technology to encourage more women to pursue careers in the areas of computing and technology. The grants are called Women in Tech Conference and Travel Grants for computer scientists.

To be eligible for the grant, applicants must be females who are either working or attending school where they are majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. The grant includes attendance at the Hack In The Box Amsterdam conference in May. It will cover costs up to 1000 EUR for travel and accommodation.

Applicants must have a strong academic record and leadership skills demonstrated at school or in the workplace environment. All grant recipients must attend the core days of the HIB Security Conference.

The HIB Security Conference is held annually where hacking issues are discussed that affect areas such as security of account information, wireless devices, and airplane hijacking. Speakers include security engineers, security companies, consultants, researchers and other knowledgeable speakers in the field of security and technology.
