Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation
A $600,000 two-year grant extension from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation is good news for global non-profit organization Astia. It is also good news for women-led organizations around the world.

Astia, founded in Silicon Valley in 1999, is a non-profit that supports women high-growth entrepreneurs. The markets served include Silicon Valley, New York, Europe and India. Their community of experts providing expertise to women entrepreneurs includes business advisors, investors, industry leaders and entrepreneurs.

The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, located in Kansas City, Missouri, is considered to be the world's largest foundation devoted to the support of entrepreneurship. Founder Ewing Kauffman, an entrepreneur himself, started a pharmaceutical company that eventually employed 3,400 people and became a global giant.

While grant money is awarded in the United States only, the benefits to entrepreneurs extends globally. The size of the grants range from a few thousand to several million dollars, depending on the size of the organization and the scope of the project
